I only did it on three icons and they all changed. To resolve this issue, I clicked the icon and confirmed it again. I think it makes 5.2.7 a no-go for this reason alone. This is something quite serious that the Mobirise Quality Assurance Manager seems to have missed during the testing phase. I can confirm that going back to 5.2.6 corrects the project (icons back to normal size!) so it isn't damaged permanently.
